Scholarship Opportunity FAQ
Thanks to a generous donation from the Sathya Educare Foundation, NJCTL is pleased to offer a limited number of competitive scholarships for these two new master's degrees:
Master of Science in Teaching and Learning Computer Science
Master of Science in Teaching and Learning Elementary Mathematics
- WHAT IS THE SCHOLARSHIP?
- This competitive scholarship supports teachers who would like to expand their knowledge, skills, and professional credentials in these two key STEM subjects.

- WHEN IS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE?
- Applications must be received no later than midnight May 22, 2023.
- HOW MUCH IS THE SCHOLARSHIP WORTH?
- Each scholarship covers 1/3 of the NJCTL tution.
- Teachers completing a program receive a Master of Science in Teaching and Learning from NJCTL, a duly authorized NJ Institution of Higher Education.
- CAN I EARN GRADUATE CREDIT?
- Teachers earn 32 graduate credits for the MSTL Computer Science and 30 graduate credits for the MSTL Elementary Mathematics.
- NJCTL is a duly authorized NJ Institution of Higher Education on track to accreditation by an accreditor recognized by the USED.

- WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
- All current teachers.
- I WOULD LIKE TO GET STARTED IN A PROGRAM RIGHT AWAY. AM I STILL ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP?
- Yes. Tution paid for courses after April 1, 2023 will be eligible for the scholarship discount.
- HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO APPLY?
- There is no charge to apply.
- HOW DO I APPLY?
- Please complete the following requirements:
- 1. Submit an application at www.njctl.org/apply/
- 2. Submit an essay of 500 words or less answering the question: “Why do you want to earn this Master of Science in Teaching and Learning degree?”
- 3. Submit a Letter of Recommendation from your principal or supervisor explaining why you would be a good candidate.
- 4. Submit a letter from your principal committing to schedule you to teach at least one section of the following applicable course(s), based on your selected program, for the duration of the 2023-24 school year:
- ○ Elementary Mathematics: at least one section of PMI Elementary Mathematics
- ○ Computer Science: at least one section of PSI Computer Science
- 5. Submit a signed program scholarship agreement.
- 6. Sign and submit the teacher/administrator video release.
