Outage Notification
On Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 5am ET we will be updating the NJCTL Moodle site. The site will be unavailable for approximately 4 hours.
Certified NJ high school science teachers can now earn an additional science endorsement by passing the required Praxis Exam and having just 15 credits in the new subject; previously 30 credits were required.
If you meet those two requirements, you can apply to the NJDOE for that second endorsement now. If not, NJCTL offers ways to meet one or both of those requirements.
Completing the above sequence will prepare you for the Praxis
exam and provide 12 of the required 15 credits (CHEM6783 is not
accepted by the DOE for the credit requirement). If you need
additional credits, please choose from this list.
Once you have passed the Praxis and met the credit requirement, apply for an add-on endorsement in chemistry.
If you need to prepare for the Chemistry Praxis, already have enough credits, and study well on your own without an instructor, NJCTL Members can take these as free noncredit self-study courses. Membership requires just an annual $95 tax-deductible donation and provides access to all NJCTL self-study courses. You should first take our free diagnostic test to determine which courses you need.
