Asynchronous Courses

With our asynchronous courses, participants can begin and complete courses at any time.  Individual courses may be completed in as briefly as 2 weeks or extended over the course of up to 12 months.  When a participant begins a course they immediately have access to all assignments, and may complete the assignments at their convenience.  Individuals are encouraged to complete one module before moving on to the next module.  Course participants may pause coursework for vacations, coaching seasons etc.  Participants enrolled in time bound endorsement programs are required to complete courses prior to the end of each phase.  Participants in field experience courses should follow the course timeline as agreed upon with their instructor.


Entrance Requirements

Participants must possess a bachelors degree to enroll in NJCTL graduate level teacher education courses.  Participants may enroll in a specific program or as a non-matriculated (courses-only student).  Admission to the New Jersey teacher endorsement program requires participants to possess a New Jersey Teaching Certificate.


Pathway To Begin Courses

Individuals may follow one of two pathways to enter courses:

          Pathway 1: Complete an application at www.njctl.org/apply/, and receive an acceptance letter.  
          Pathway 2:  Register for courses directly at www.njctl.org/online-learning/teachers/ and begin coursework immediately.
