NJCTL is excited to offer our students the opportunity to apply credits from NJCTL courses toward a regionally accredited doctorate or master's degree at the

American College of Education (ACE).

 

  • HOW MANY CREDITS CAN I TRANSFER?
  • Up to 15 credits can be transferred towards ACE degree programs.

  • WHICH ACE DEGREE PROGRAMS ACCEPT TRANSFER CREDIT?
  • Credits can be transferred into the following ACE degree programs:
  •  
  • 1. M.Ed. in Advanced Studies
  • a. General Studies
  • b. Major in Integrated Physics
  • c. Major in Integrated Chemistry
  • d. Major in Integrated Biology
  •  
  • 2. M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction
  • a. General Track of Study
  • b. Focus of Study in Mathematics 6-8
  • c. Focus of Study in Science
  •  
  • 3. M.Ed. in Integrated Curriculum
  •  
  • 4. Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction
  •  
  • 5. Ed.D. in Instructional Techology
  •  
  • 6. Ed.D. in Leadership
  •  
  • 7. Ed.D. in Second Language Instruction
  •  
  • WHICH COURSES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR TRANSFER CREDIT?
  • All content related courses offered by NJCTL, with the exception of Capstone and Praxis Preparation courses, are eligible for transfer.

  • DOES ACE HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
  • Prospective students who wish to transfer credits into an ACE program must submit a completed Application for Admission to ACE and meet all eligibility requirements, including, but not limited to:
  •  
    • Master’s Degree Requirements
    • Bachelor’s or highest post-baccalaureate degree, having earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4-point scale for full admission, or minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4-point scale for provisional admission.
    •  
    • Doctoral Degree Requirements
    • Master’s or doctoral degree, having earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale for full admission. The applicant must submit a current curriculum vitae or resume, a goal statement in response to department-specific prompts and complete an interview.

  • WHAT IS THE COST FOR ADDITIONAL ACE CREDITS TOWARDS AN ADVANCED DEGREE?
  • The cost per additional credit is $235 for ACE M.Ed. programs and $306 for Ed.D. programs.
     
  • IS ACE ACCREDITED?
  • ACE is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and offers teacher and administrative educator preparation programs that are also accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educational Preparation (CAEP).
     
  • DOES ACE PROVIDE ANY SCHOLARSHIP OR GRANT OPPORTUNITIES?
  • Yes, all NJCTL-affiliated students are eligible for a Partnership Grant. M.Ed. students receive $500 and those pursuing an Ed.D. receive $1000. Additional scholarship opportunities can be found here.
