MATH6448: Learning & Teaching Introduction to Calculus

About

This course is for teachers to learn the content of PMI Calculus and how to teach that course to students. It introduces the study of limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration. Concepts are presented and explored from symbolic, algebraic, graphical, and numerical perspectives. Topics include Limits & Continuity; Derivatives; Applications of Derivatives; Analyzing Functions Using Derivatives, Integration; and 2D Applications of Integration.

The course contains much of the same content of AP Calculus AB, but the AP course includes additional units of study and specific AP-style free response questions.

You should not take both Introduction to Calculus and AP Calculus AB, but should select the one that best fits your needs. Students in our Master's Degree program may select either.  If you are not sure which is better suited to your needs, please email admissions@njctl.org.
