Teachers who possess a valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate and pass the Praxis II subject matter exam in Chemistry may apply to the West Virginia Department of Education for an add-on endorsement in Chemistry (9-Adult) by passing the Praxis Exam.*

WVDE does not recognize NJCTL coursework on an NJCTL transcript for salary advancement.
To obtain credits from an institution accredited by a USED-recognized accreditor, courses can be transcribed with NJCTL’s partner, Adams State University.
* Please note that this option is not available to individuals based upon possessing a Provisional Teaching Certificate, Student Support Certificate, Administrative Certificate, or Permits of any kind.

Anyone with a bachelor's degree in any subject, with any GPA, may enroll in NJCTL courses and/or a master's degree program. No prior mathematics or science background required.

There are instances when credits from an institution that has institutional accreditation are needed. For instance, some districts require them for tuition reimbursement and/or salary advancement.
