Scholarships for Physics Endorsement

The New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is happy to announce that, due to a donor's generous support, scholarships will be available to as many as four teachers in Essex, Bergen, or Passaic County.

Each scholarship will provide up to $6250 towards the $7800 cost of CTL's Physics Endorsement Program. This program provides currently certified teachers, in any subject area, a New Jersey endorsement to teach physics. Learn more about the program here.

Join the CTL teacher empowerment movement by earning your physics certification and opening on-ramps to STEM careers for students in your school.

CTL is a nonprofit that is providing a simple, scalable solution for our nation's massive STEM teacher shortage and the great social injustice that comes from depriving underserved students access to STEM education and the important opportunities this learning provides.

CTL has become the #1 producer of physics teachers in the country and a leading producer of chemistry teachers. CTL training engages a racially and gender diverse pool of teachers who can serve as role models for their students.

The Physics Endorsement program will be located at Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, NJ. The program begins on June 27th, 2016, for a full schedule see here.

To apply for the scholarship, please submit the following by June 1st, 2016.
1. An application to the physics endorsement program found here.
2. An essay of 500 words or less answering the question: "Why do you want to earn your physics certification?"
3. A letter of recommendation from your principal or supervisor explaining why you would be a good candidate and committing to schedule you to teach at least one section of Algebra-Based Physics for the 2016-17 school year.

Completed essays and your letter of recommendation can be sent to info@njctl.org.
