Professional Development for Physics Teachers

Join the CTL teacher empowerment movement by strengthening your content knowledge and networking with other physics teachers.


The following courses will be offered at Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, NJ


Teaching Advanced Placement Physics 1: This course is for new and experienced AP Physics teachers and provides concrete strategies and practices for teaching the topics and labs of AP Physics 1.


Dates: July 11-15th
Time: Monday-Thursday 8:00-4:30; Friday 8:00-2:30
Credits: 3 credits
Cost: $780


Teaching Advanced Placement Physics 2: This course is for new and experienced AP Physics teachers and provides concrete strategies and practices for teaching the topics and labs of AP Physics 2.


Dates: July 11-15th
Time:  Monday-Thursdsay 8:00-4:30; Friday 8:00-2:30
Credits: 3 credits
Cost: $780


Teaching Advanced Placement Physics C-Mechanics:  Physics teachers who are new to Calculus-Based Physics, or who want to learn new strategies for teaching AP Physics C, will learn the content, and how to teach the content, of AP Physics C: Mechanics using the PSI approaches towards curriculum, pedagogy, technology, and assessment.


Dates: June 27-July 28
Time: Monday-Thursday 8:00-2:30
Credits: 9 credits
Cost: $2340


 Learning and Teaching PSI Algebra-Based Physics Labs: This course gives teachers the hands-on opportunity to practice the lab setups from the Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism sections of the PSI Algebra-Based Physics course, while also performing the labs from a student perspective.


Dates: June 27-30th
Time: Monday-Thursday 8:00-2:30
Credits: 2 credits
Cost: $520


While CTL is not accredited, its partner Adams State University offers graduate credits for these courses at an additional cost of $55 per credit. CTL has also partnered with Adams State University to provide a pathway to a Master of Arts in Education with Curriculum and Instruction.
