New Jersey Center of Teaching and Learning (NJCTL) is currently seeking applicants to establish a candidate pool for potential future online asynchronous graduate teaching openings. Applications will be reviewed and successful candidates will be placed into a pool of candidates eligible to be considered for future positions.

Faculty Requirements

Applicants are required to hold at least a master’s degree, be certified to teach, and have experience teaching in that subject using PSI-PMI materials. Applicants should 

demonstrate ability to meet the following skills while instructing in an online asynchronous format:

• Understand student needs and to provide academic advising and counseling


• Motivate students to progress through courses at their goal pace


• Work well with students, faculty, and staff and to coordinate all aspects of a course


• Desire and commitment to work with students from diverse backgrounds and culture


• Stay current on changes in the field so that they can keep their courses up-to- date with the latest developments in their discipline


• Maintain a friendly and customer service oriented demeanor when working with students 


• Create educational activities that are interesting and engaging

Faculty Responsibilities

• Collaborating with other faculty in course and program design development, evaluation and improvement


• Participating in bi-weekly faculty meetings and annual program review meetings


• Collaborating with students through guidance, mentorship, and tutoring to achieve their personal and professional objectives


• Evaluating the work of their students to ensure that they have mastered the content of each course


• Providing content and technical assistance to students as needed, during weekly scheduled office hours or at other times as requested by students
