Physics Endorsement Teacher: Southern New Jersey


About the Position

The New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) PSI Physics Endorsement Teacher position requires working under the supervision of the Program Manager and Team Leader to provide ongoing instruction and support to CTL physics endorsement participants. Experience in teaching PSI Algebra-Based Physics for Teachers and the AP Physics B course is highly recommended. PSI Physics endorsement courses are typically taught in the evenings and occasional Saturdays throughout the academic year, while summer classes are taught daily in the month of July.

Key Job Responsibilities



  • Provide instruction to endorsement participant using the PSI Algebra-Based and AP Physics B (trigonometry-based physics program) using PSI methods.




  • Oversee endorsement participant progress to ensure academic growth as related to physics understanding.




  • Document and communicate participant progress and administrative information with the CTL Program Manager.




  • Provide supplemental instruction as required and construct additional instructional tools as needed.




  • Travel to to endorsement class locations to provide instruction.

Required



  • Strong physics content knowledge




  • Experience teaching or familiarity with PSI-PMI methods




  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills




  • Self motivation to work quickly and efficiently




  • Fluency with use of SMART Notebook and SMART Response technology




  • MA or higher (any field)




Preferred


  • Successful experience teaching PSI Algebra-Based Physics and AP Physics.




  • Successful experience training teachers




Successful candidate(s) will be required to go through orientation prior to the start of their assignment.

Work Schedule

Part-time position; number of hours worked will be coordinated with assignments given by the team leader and program manager.
