At NJCTL, we are dedicated to continuously improving our Progressive Science Initiative (PSI) and Progressive Mathematics Initiative (PMI) offerings through our own ongoing efforts, as well as feedback from our community of educators. Each year,  we suggest that you download the latest version of each course you use to take advantage of our updates. Here are our most frequently asked questions about downloading our courses, together with our answers: 

Q: Which versions of SMART Notebook are compatible with NJCTL classroom teaching materials?

A: You can use SMART Notebook 16.0 and earlier.  You can download SMART Notebook 11.4 for free by clicking here.

Q: Can I use a newer version of SMART Notebook?

A: Yes, but versions 16.1 and newer convert all of the formative assessment questions into Response 2.0. This conversion will leave out any graphs, pictures or equations that are part of the questions.

Q: Are there additional options for interactive software programs that can import and open SMART Notebook files?

A: Yes, there are a few additional interactive software programs that can open and import SMART Notebook files.  Examples include, but are not limited to: Promethean ActivInspire and MimioStudio.  If your school district has a different interactive software program, and you would like to see if it is compatible with SMART Notebook, please send us an email at info@njctl.org.

Q: What do I need in order to download SMART Notebook 11.4 at no cost?

A: You need a PC or a Mac with an operating system of OS X 10.9 Mavericks or earlier.

Q: What should I do if I have a Mac with an operating system of OS X 10.10 Yosemite or later?

A: Send us an email at info@njctl.org, and we'll be able to provide you with another interactive software to open our presentations.  Please include your Mac operating system in your message.
