Hello, I am just discovering your curriculum and resources. I am interested in implementing it in my classroom. I am trying to understand exactly how it is organized and what materials are given to students.
Where do the demonstrations fit into the unit plan? I did not see them listed. Are they supplementary? Same with the Graphical analysis presentation.
Are there readings that available for students in addition to the homework? Do you post the slides/pdfs for them to go over while working on homework?
Overall I really like the content. I am just curious how it is intended to be implemented or how others have been successful using it.

Hi Asa, we are so glad you found the materials and that they will be useful! Your starting point will be the unit plan (in Teacher Resources)--it maps out how everything fits together. If a demo is not listed, it may be embedded in the presentation, or it is there to supplement if you would like to use it. Typically, at the beginning of a unit, teachers print (or provide a digital copy) of the classwork-homework file(s) and the presentation to students. If printing, people usually print it 6 slides per page/double-sided to reduce the use of paper. Those presentations are the "textbook" so there is no additional reading. You may have noticed QR codes and links throughout the presentations. These link out to instructional videos. Some people use those to "flip" the classroom, assigning a direct instruction video for homework and then going through the formative assessment questions (numbered at the end of each topic) in class. We offer a graduate course on our teaching methods which you might find helpful. You can find more information about it here:https://njctl.org/teaching%20methods/6/course/159/
If you have any other questions or would like to schedule a short zoom crash course, feel free to reach out by email to info@njctl.org!
