Together We Have Made New Jersey #1 in Physics

Thanks to the foresight of New Jersey lawmakers a decade ago, New Jersey is home to the largest producer of physics teachers in the nation.

How? The state Legislature approved a bill that allowed the nonprofit New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning (NJCTL) to best prepare the next generation of physics teachers.

Today, NJCTL’s programs have expanded to include producing teachers of chemistry, computer science, as well as middle school science and mathematics. Along the way, NJCTL has developed what may be the most extensive library of free, editable K-14 course materials for science, mathematics, and computer science.

In response to the pandemic, NJCTL adapted its online graduate courses to directly support teachers and students, helping the state’s education system emerge stronger.
